PorColombia is a network of university students in the United States who are committed to using their personal talents and institutional resources to benefit Colombia. The goal of the organization is to provide students with the means and support to share information, innovate and engage in collaborative initiative focused on Colombia.

PorColombia is a citizen sector organization that aims to organize a community of Colombian university students in the United States, as well as foreign students with an invested interest in Colombia, in order to pool and leverage their individual efforts and resources to benefit the country. The overall goal of the organization is to provide students with the means and support to act on personal initiatives and accomplish specific goals focused on Colombia. This is accomplished in three ways: first, to form a solid community of Colombians and friends of Colombia across the United States; second, to encourage and assist members to return to Colombia in the future; and third, to raise awareness and inform foreign students of the situation in Colombia.

PorColombia will form a solid community by connecting students through an online network. Through regular communication, members will organize and participate in academic, cultural and social events. These events will be targeted to provide students with a setting in which to foster patriotism, exchange ideas and join forces on specific projects. PorColombia will assist students who wish to return to Colombia either to work or to develop a project by leveraging its contact base throughout the United States and Colombia. The online network will also connect students to alumni from member universities, who will provide them with professional advice and personal support on their return. Lastly, PorColombia will help students in member universities understand both the positive and negative aspects of Colombia. By conducting simulations, cultural festivals and panel discussions among other events, PorColombia seeks to break typical stereotypes, raise awareness of the current situation, and gain the support of the international community in an effort to benefit Colombia
